FAQ

What does EZ Fry consist of and how does it work?

EZ Fry consists of 100% plant derived ingredients that remains solid at room temperature. Adding EZ Fry increases the melting point of oil, allowing the mixture to solidify!

How do I use EZ Fry ?

Shortly after frying your food:

  1. Ensure to turn off the stove (or any other heat sources)
  2. While oil is still hot (above 80 Celsius) add 1 scoop / 1 cup of oil (300 mL)
  3. Stir & mix thoroughly until EZ Fry flakes are fully dissolved in your oil
  4. Allow your oil to cool for 30-60 minutes and solidify
  5. Scoop the solid waste with a utensil and dispose it in an organic or a garbage bin, depending on your local waste regulations.

Which size do you recommend for my frying volume?

  1. Frying Pan & Small home fryer (up to 3L oil oil): EZ Fry (100 g)
  2. Volumes exceeding 3L: EZ Fry – Value Pack (500g)

Will solidified oil revert to liquid after a certain period of time?

All oil turned to solid using the product will not revert to liquid, unless heated.

How long does it take to see results?

It takes approximately 30-60 minutes to see gelling effects (solidification) of oil.

I used EZ Fry but nothing is happening. What should I do?

There may be too much oil for the amount of EZ Fry added. Reheat your oil to at least 80 Celsius, add an appropriate amount of additional EZ Fry.

Can I reuse the oil for cooking once it is solidified?

Solidified oil should not be reused for cooking, as EZ Fry is not for human consumption.

How do I know when to scoop & dispose my oil?

Cloudiness of in your oil is the indication that the oil is ready for scoop & disposal. Formation of a clear film on oil surface is indication that gelling effects are still taking place, and it needs to be waited longer.

Why should I use EZ Fry and what makes it environmentally friendly?

  1. Kitchen Towel: It saves yourself from using loads of kitchen towels to soak your remaining oil, which is especially not sustainable for large volumes of oil. Each scoop of EZ Fry can save you from using as much as 30 sheets of kitchen towels (or more) !
  2. Drain: Pouring remaining cooking oil down drain could eventually clog your pipe, which can cost you hundreds (if not thousands) dollars in repair! In addition to the clog issue, studies suggest that one litre of cooking oil can pollute up to one million liters of water. Solidifying oil waste prevents it from seeping into our water system, allowing it to property decompose in an organic waste management facility or in a landfill.
  3. Mess: Handling oil waste (like any other liquid) can be a messy process. EZ Fry turns oil waste into solid forms, offering easy & convenient method of disposal.
